Tesla Wall Connector and Wallbox Pulsar Plus are the two chargers we're asked about most. Both are excellent, well-supported units — the right pick comes down to priorities, not one being objectively better.
Power and cable
Both chargers scale up to 22kW on three phase supply, or 7.4kW on single phase, and both come with a tethered cable — you plug straight in without carrying a separate cable in the boot.
The Wall Connector's cable is a fixed 7.3m length; Wallbox offers a shorter cable, which suits tighter installs closer to the parking space.
App and features
The Tesla app is tightly integrated for Tesla owners but works with any Type 2 EV for basic charging — non-Tesla drivers won't get vehicle-specific data in-app.
The myWallbox app is vehicle-agnostic from the ground up, with scheduling, and an optional built-in power meter for accurate energy logging without extra hardware.
Size and looks
Wallbox Pulsar Plus is one of the smallest chargers on the market — a real advantage in a tight garage or where you want a discreet install.
Tesla Wall Connector is slightly larger but still compact, with a minimalist design that many households prefer visually.
Multi-vehicle households
Tesla Wall Connector supports power sharing across up to six units on one circuit — a strong option if you expect a second EV in the garage.
Wallbox units can also be load managed as part of a multi-charger site, though Tesla's native power-sharing setup is simpler for a two-car household.
Frequently asked questions
