Frequently asked questions
Do I need a 22kW charger?
Only if your car's onboard AC charger can use it (commonly up to 11kW or 22kW on three phase) and you have a three phase supply. Most single-phase homes are limited to 7.4kW regardless of the charger's rating.
Is a tethered cable better than a socketed charger?
Tethered is more convenient day to day. Socketed chargers let you use your own cable and can look tidier, but you need to store a cable in the car.
Can I install the charger myself?
No — home EV charger circuits must be installed and certified by a licensed electrician to AS/NZS 3000.
